ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT –  “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s between 09:00-12:00pm.  Come let us adore Him.”

REFRESHMENTS –  Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St. Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS –  The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate.  Please consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS –  can be taken out at anytime throughout the year.  It is a valuable source of additional income or the parish with no extra cost to the parishioner

ADVENT  –  Advenire is the Latin from which ‘Advent’ is derived, meaning ‘to arrive’ or ‘come to’.  Advent recalls God’s first coming is Christ’s birth and looks forward to his return at the end of time, while we prepare to celebrate that first coming at Christmas.

Love in a Box – thank you to all those who contributed a filled shoebox for this scheme; the boxes will be heading to children in Moldova in time for Christmas very soon after their arrival at the depot in Eastbourne. A total of 228 boxes were despatched to Mustard Seed from churches in Lingfield and EG as well as schools and community groups.

PARISH CHRISTMAS LUNCH: TODAY SUNDAY 2ND DEC   –  in St. Bernard’s hall, gathering from 12.30 pm for lunch at 1.00 pm.  The meal will be a traditional Christmas Lunch.  The arrangements will be as at the previous parish lunches: soft drinks will be provided but please bring your own alcoholic drinks; pre-booking is not required – just come along if you wish; there is no charge but there will be a voluntary donations basket.  Everyone is welcome – from every corner of the parish.

Advent Christmas Tree –  please take a label from the Christmas Tree and bring the item along for Crawley Open House for the residents.  Box for tinned and packet items also available as usual.

Cash4Coins  –  Last call for any foreign currency you may have tucked away from your overseas holidays!

1ST HOLY COMMUNION MORNING RETREAT  –  Saturday 8th  9.30 -12.30 at St. Bernard’s.

1ST HOLY COMMUNION CHILDREN  –  receive their Bibles at next Sunday’s Mass.

S.V.P. – Thank the Parish for the Emergency Funds donated for the people of Kerala after the flooding £1598 was donated. Our SVP awareness week collection in September raised a total of £708 between the 2 churches. SVP Twinnage leaflets are in Church if you wish at any time to make a donation to the S. Sudan Baby Feeding Appeal.

2019 CALENDARS  –  Complimentary copies of the Missio 2019 calendar are available from the church table at OL&StP church.

MISSIO RED BOXES – Please will you bring your box to OL&StP church for year-end counting. Deliver it into the sacristy, please don’t leave it anywhere else in the church.  If your box is normally counted at home this will happen as usual. Thank you

WINTER APPEAL FOR CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE  –  Lingfield SVP Conference have launched their annual appeal for the funding of sleeping bags and thermos flasks for the overflow of the homeless – for whom there is no space in the overnight shelter at the Open House.  They are provided with sleeping bags, flasks of hot soup and sandwiches by the Open House and are directed to tented accommodation.  Lingfield SVP undertakes to supply a number of sleeping bags and flasks and will be seeking contributions towards the cost after the 9.00am Mass over the next few weeks.  Please sponsor a sleeping bag (£20), a flask (£5) or a set (£25).

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS – The Parish Christmas Greetings sheet will be published at Mass on the weekend of 15/16 December, and we are looking for as many contributors as possible.  If you would like to have your greeting published, please email or telephone details to Les Whittaker at [email protected] / tel 315484, or Muriel Cheesman  [email protected] / tel 327512. They can also be left in note form with Fr. Steven.  Please let us have your greeting by Sunday 9th December at the latest.  Donations to CAFOD – please put cash or cheques (made payable to CAFOD) in an envelope marked Christmas Greetings and give to Fr Steven, Les or Muriel.

OUR LADY & ST. PETERS LUNCH CLUB   –  will meet on Wednesday 12th December for our Christmas Lunch at 11.45am.  We look forward to this Festive Lunch and Carols afterwards.  Liam has kindly agreed to bring his Music and Sing with us.  Please ring Ivy (323240) Jean (311295) or your Driver if you are not able to come.

BIG CHURCH CLEAN  –  for Christmas at OLSP.  Saturday 15th December 10am – 12.  Just turn up.  Your  help is much appreciated.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Debt advice  –   a local support group offering a listening ear, advice and information to those facing debt problems is available in EG, operating from Trinity Church (the service is free).  If you need help with debt issues don’t delay and worry, get it sorted NOW. EG Foodbank – require the following items: Christmas crackers, Christmas puddings – large and small, Large tins of ham, Tubes only of Crisps, large tins of sweets, jam, Christmas cakes, large boxes of biscuits and Children’s Chocolate selection boxes. Please ensure sell by dates are after Christmas.  Please take to the Foodbank at the Jubilee Centre in Charlwoods Road (box inside the Centre on the left) if you can deliver, or bring to Church.  Thank you for your continued support.

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE   –  welcomes sleeping bags, blankets, and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when the Centre is full.  In addition tinned and packet food is welcome as well as coffee, tea and sugar.  Please leave donated items at the back of church at OLSP and St. Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes also be donated at both churches, or taken directly to COH at Three Bridges.  Tel: 01293 447702.
