Holy Communion

This is usually available to children aged 7/8. Please look out for more information in the church newsletter each September.

Confirmation is a Sacrament in which the confirmandi receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit through the imposition of hand and anointing with oils by the bishop. The effect of Confirmation is the full outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost. It increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit in us. Through Confirmation, the Holy Spirit gives you the increased ability to practice the Catholic faith and witness Christ in every situation.

We would like to pray by name for anyone in our parish community who is sick, in need or suffering in any way. If you or a loved one would like to be included in the Bidding Prayers at mass, you are warmly invited to contact:

Fr Jack, or Sue Faulkner at Our Lady & St Peter

Fr Jack or Nicky Daines or Mary Watson at St Bernard’s.

If you are requesting prayers for a loved one, please ensure that they have given their permission for their name to be included.

If you would like to request prayer for your intention, whatever it might be, by members of the new parish prayer network, please contact Sue Faulkner.

Members will pray for your intention privately in their homes. Your name will not be mentioned in church, and you can be anonymous if you prefer.
