On Friday 27th September, the Feast Day of St Vincent de Paul, members of the SVP across the Diocese gathered at Arundel Cathedral to celebrate 180 years of the SVP in England and Wales. At the end of the Mass, celebrated by Bishop Richard, Peter Wells our President of the East Grinstead Conference, was presented with a long service award in recognition of his 55 years of dedicated service as an SVP member.
Peter has been the President of our conference in East Grinstead for over 20 years, he has also served as the President of the Diocesan Central Council and until recently President of the Crawley District Council where he continues as its Secretary. Peter has also been a trainer for conferences across the Diocese for over 16 years. In all that Peter has done and continues to do as an SVP member he does with kindness, gentleness, humility and a great sense of humour.
Many congratulations to Peter for such a well-deserved award.
