ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT –  “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s between 09:00-12:00pm.  Come let us adore Him.”

REFRESHMENTS –  Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St. Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS –  The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate.  Please consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS –  can be taken out at anytime throughout the year.  It is a valuable source of additional income or the parish with no extra cost to the parishioners

parish spring lunch this sunday13th may  –  at St. Bernard’s Church Hall, gathering from 12.30pm for lunch at 1.00pm.  All arrangements will be as for the previous lunches: soft drinks will be provided but please bring your own alcoholic drinks; pre-booking is not required – just come along if you wish; there is no charge but there will be a voluntary donations basket.  Everyone is welcome – from all corners of the parish.

PARISH 100 CLUB – Congratulations to winners in the April draw of the 100 Club: 1st, £50, no 123, Mrs Donohue; 2nd, £25, no 5, Mr Pentney; 3rd; £15, no 64, Mr & Mrs Joyce.

POSITION VACANCY: DIOCESAN FINANCIAL CONTROLLER  – The Diocese is recruiting a new Financial Controller to be based at Bishop’s House, Hove. The position is full time and details are published in the sheet posted on the notice board at OL&StP church.

Rosary Bike Ride to Walsingham & Back  – To raise money for the pro-life charity, Good Counsel Network, who reach out to help expectant Mothers and new Mothers in difficult circumstances, through a helpline, a free advisory service, practical help, friendship and moral support. I will display 50 rosaries on the bike to mark 50th anniversary of the Abortion Act, and pray 150 rosaries throughout the pilgrimage.

Please see display that will be at OLSP from time to time during May.  I will be at St Bernard’s with the display at Mass this Sunday13th May.

Christian Aid Week Charity Collection this Sunday 13th to Sat 19th May  – needed please, to deliver envelopes to houses in the Garden Wood Rd area of East Grinstead and to collect peoples’ donations in them later in that week. (We had too few volunteers last year, so new ones needed as well as repeat volunteers please). Lots of the roads have under 20 houses to call at.  Please let Mike Hope know if you can help, 01342 322560.”

PARISH MAGAZINE  –  We are now planning to have an issue of the Magazine well before the school holidays, so we will need contributions by 17 June. News from parish organizations, societies, clubs, etc., articles related in some way to the history of our parish or to the church in general, descriptions of pilgrimages, etc., as well as other contributions, poems, etc. are all very welcome. Also, if any Parish Organizations listed on the inside back cover have a presence online (webpage, Facebook, twitter…), or an email address, then you may wish to give a link to that there as well. Submissions can be emailed to me at [email protected]
Alternatively, contributions can be addressed to Klara King and left on the table at the back 
of the church.

CHRISTIAN MEDITATION groups – In East Grinstead, from Thursday 26th April we will be meeting each Thursday from 7.30-8.30 pm in the Parish hall at Our Lady and Saint Peter’s. We will be running a 6 week ‘Introduction To Christian Meditation’ course from Thursday 3rd May to 7th June 7.30-8.30pm in the Parish hall. ALL WELCOME! Please see poster and leaflet at the back of the church. At Worth Abbey, meetings will be held in the Chapel of The Blessed Sacrament in the Abbey Church, between 7.45-8.45 pm on the following dates –16th and 30th May, 13th and 27th June and 11th  and 25th July. If you would like any more information about Christian Meditation at either venue, please contact Gabrielle Joyce on 326118.

OL&SP LUNCH CLUB – will meet on Wednesday 16th May at 12.30pm.  Please ring Jean (311295) Ivy (323240) or your driver if you are not able to come.

Quiz to support Christian Aid – 7pm Sat 19 May at Moat UR Church.  Teams of 8 required.  Tickets from Ric Cooper 01342 825030, price £10 to include a fish and chip supper.

The Great Adventure is running at Worth Abbey  –  from the 18-20th May for all those in year 7-9. Over the weekend we are going to be exploring the idea that the journey of discipleship is a great adventure that we are each called to through workshops, input, prayer, worship and a whole lot of fun! Cake & Plant Sale – 23/24 June  – Please note the date of this year’s Gospel of Life Group’s sale if you would like to support it by baking a cake or growing some plants – all donations gratefully received. Proceeds will go to a supported home for young folk with Downs Syndrome.

EG Foodbank –   items required re washing up liquid, washing powder, fruit juice 1 litre long-life, tinned rice pudding, toilet paper (small packs) and tinned sweetcorn.

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE – welcomes sleeping bags, blankets, and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the Door when the Centre is full.  In addition tinned and packet food is welcome as well as coffee, tea and sugar.  Please leave donated items at the back of church at OLSP and St. Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes also be donated at both churches, or taken directly to COH at Three Bridges. Tel: 01293 447702.
