ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT –  “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s between 09:00-12:00pm.  Come let us adore Him.”

REFRESHMENTS –  Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St. Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS –  The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate.  Please consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS –  can be taken out at anytime throughout the year.  It is a valuable source of additional income or the parish with no extra cost to the parishioners

2ND COLLECTION NEXT  WEEK  –  for The Missionary Endeavour of the Diocese.  Can be gift-aided.

parish spring lunch   – Another great and thoroughly enjoyable parish social gathering.  Thanks to all who came and made it such a grand luncheon party – and special thanks to the members of the Lunches Team who fed us all so very well.

EAST GRINSTEAD CATENIANS   – The East Grinstead Circle of the Catenian Association will meet at the Dorset Arms, High Street, East Grinstead on Monday, 21st May at 8.00 p.m.  Members, their families and friends are also reminded of the bowling afternoon at Mount Noddy on 23 June. The Catenian Association is an international brotherhood of practising Catholic laymen who meet socially, at least once a month.To find out more on the Catenian Association. please call Paul Barrett on 01342 870058 or visit http://www.egcats.co.uk

POSITION VACANCY: DIOCESAN FINANCIAL CONTROLLER  – The Diocese is recruiting a new Financial Controller to be based at Bishop’s House, Hove. The position is full time and details are published in the sheet posted on the notice board at OL&StP church.

CAR PARKING FOR OL&StP  –  It is appreciated that parking for the church can sometimes be difficult, particularly on a Sunday morning. Nevertheless, please would you note that parking in the area adjacent to the church ie, behind La Farola Restaurant  and alongside the Advance Medical Centre, must NOT be used. This is a private car park and as Advance is a specialised (children’s) medical centre operating through seven days, their requirement for space is paramount.

Brenda Crannigan  –  has been granted a visa to live with her son in Tennessee and will be  leaving England on the 7th June. She is having open house at 8, St Catherine’s Court, Garland Rd. RH19 1NJ on Friday 25th May 2-4 and Sunday 27th May 10 – 12 and 2-4 and would like to invite you for a cuppa. Come along and see if there is of anything of interest to you.

A SHORT SURVEY FOR RECENT CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES  –  Bishop Richard is currently holding a consultation on how we prepare people for confirmation. If you’ve recently been confirmed then we’d like to hear from you. We’ve created a short survey which you can access on line http://bit.ly/surveyconf. We would also ask parents to pass this on to their children who have recently been confirmed if possible.

PARISH MAGAZINE  –  We are now planning to have an issue of the Magazine well before the school holidays, so we will need contributions by 17 June. News from parish organizations, societies, clubs, etc., articles related in some way to the history of our parish or to the church in general, descriptions of pilgrimages, etc., as well as other contributions, poems, etc. are all very welcome. Also, if any Parish Organizations listed on the inside back cover have a presence online (webpage, Facebook, twitter…), or an email address, then you may wish to give a link to that there as well. Submissions can be emailed to me at [email protected]
Alternatively, contributions can be addressed to Klara King and left on the table at the back 
of the church.

CHRISTIAN MEDITATION GROUPS – EAST GRINSTEAD AND – East Grinstead our weekly meetings are held each Thursday from 7.30-8.30pm in the Parish Centre/church hall. In Worth Abbey, meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month  from 7.45 until 8.45 in the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament. Cake & Plant Sale – 23/24 June  – Please note the date of this year’s Gospel of Life Group’s sale if you would like to support it by baking a cake or growing some plants – all donations gratefully received. Proceeds will go to a supported home for young folk with Downs Syndrome.

FAMILY QUIZ FOR YOUNG HELPERS GOING TO LOURDES  –  To raise money to support young parishioners going on the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes in July as either ‘Blue shirt’ or ‘Red Shirt’ helpers, the East Grinstead Catenians are organising a Family Quiz on Saturday 23rd June at St. Peter’s School, Crossways Avenue, at  7 for 7.30. Cost £10 per head to include a fish and chip supper. Cash bar available. Teams of up to 6. Tickets will be available after masses or by calling John Donohue on 01342 326552.

EG Foodbank –   items required re washing up liquid, washing powder, fruit juice 1 litre long-life, tinned rice pudding, toilet paper (small packs) and tinned sweetcorn.

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE – welcomes sleeping bags, blankets, and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the Door when the Centre is full.  In addition tinned and packet food is welcome as well as coffee, tea and sugar.  Please leave donated items at the back of church at OLSP and St. Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes also be donated at both churches, or taken directly to COH at Three Bridges. Tel: 01293 447702. GATWICK DETAINEES WELFARE GROUP – desperately needs medium sized trousers and trainers size 9 & 10.
