ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT –  “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s between 09:00-12:00pm.  Come let us adore Him.”

REFRESHMENTS –  Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St. Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS –  The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate.  Please consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS –  can be taken out at anytime throughout the year.  It is a valuable source of additional income or the parish with no extra cost to the parishioner

ADVANCE NOTICE  –  Due to holiday absences, pleased will you note that there will be no Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (and following Holy Rosary) on Friday 7th September.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND RECONCILIATION 2019 – If you have a child in Year 4 primary school year or above and would like to enrol them on our programme, Please fill in an Application Form now available in your church.  This is strictly first come first served so please return as soon as possible.

Catholic Women’s League  –  are unable to have the Mass and coffee morning as stated on 30th August. Instead we are having afternoon tea on that day, still at 84 Sister Ann Way at 2:30pm. There will be a Bring &Buy.

SVP – Please note that at long last a collection service is being arranged for light furniture and other household goods, by a driver with a van from mid – August 2018, two days a week (days and time to be decided). There may be a small collection for an initial two months trial period.  Please contact the SVP Broadfield, Crawley, Shop Manager – Maurizio, on 01293 517135 to confirm suitability of items to be collected and date/time of collection.”

S.V.P CARAVAN HOLIDAY AT BOGNOR REGIS  –  The 6 berth caravan has full gas central heating and is double glazed the cost  £250.00 for a week. Suitable for a family with children not yet reached school age or ideal for a couple or two couples looking for a break to view the sites around the coast.  Available weeks Sept. 8th, 15th & 29th.  or Oct. 13th and 27th. CHILDREN IN THE PARISH  –  It is great to have these children in the Parish.  After discussion with the Core Group of the Parish the decision has been made –

  1. Replace in both churches the 1st Sunday no children’s liturgy and children’s mass with the 2nd Sunday instead.  This is because so many 1st Sundays fall when children are away on holiday throughout the year.
  2. In OLSP to start again Liturgy of the Word for children on the 1st Sunday of the month only due to shortage of children’s liturgy folk.  Children’s Liturgy will be for children between 4-8 years. These changes will come in for the new school year.
  3. There will be a meeting for all who have expressed an interest in children’s liturgy in the Hall at OLSP on

Saturday 15th September from 10.30am till 12 noon.  If anyone is interested in joining as a helper or just Interested in finding out more – please come along.

CRAWLEY AND REDHILL DEANERIES INITIAL SAFEGUARDING AWARENESS TRAINING  – A Refresher Training Programme is being rolled out from September 2018 starting with those who did their training in 2015.  Anyone who wishes to attend, please contact either me on or 01342 327109 or e-mail the Safeguarding Office direct on [email protected] Pentney (Safeguarding Rep).

Love in a Box – this will be happening in October and November so please save shoeboxes (with removable lids) now as these will be needed.  If anyone can knit, or donate, hats, scarves and gloves this would be very useful as we are always short of these items.  Further details from Sue Joy. 01342 835190.

EG Foodbank – require the following items which can be brought to church or left at the Jubilee Centre in Charlwoods Road:   pasta sauce, tinned soup, fruit juice longlife 1 litre, rice pudding, surface cleaner, small washing powder, or liquid for clothes washing.

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE – welcomes sleeping bags, blankets, and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when the Centre is full.  In addition tinned and packet food is welcome as well as coffee, tea and sugar.  Please leave donated items at the back of church at OLSP and St. Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes also be donated at both churches, or taken directly to COH at Three Bridges.  Tel: 01293 447702.
