Church Opening

As from Monday 15th June the government has allowed churches to open for private prayer.

Sadly this is not the simple matter of turning a key in the lock, the churches have to be cleaned and disinfected,  areas taped off to ensure ‘social distancing’, teams of volunteers to be recruited and so on.

We plan to open St Bernard’s church in Lingfield on Saturday 20th June from 10am to 12 noon, and also on Wednesday 24th from 2pm to 4pm.  Hopefully with sufficient volunteers/lessening of social distancing measures we might be able to increase the amount of time we can keep the church open.

As yet we are unable to open Our Lady and St Peter’s East Grinstead.  This is because of the on-going refurbishment.  As yet, I am not confident to be able to publish as to when the church will be open.  Needless to say I hope that it will be sooner rather than later.

Please note, the churches will be open for private prayer ONLY.  It is still not permitted to gather together for any sort of service at all.

Confession/reconciliation.  If you wish for me to hear your confession please telephone me so an appointment can be made.
