REFRESHMENTS –  Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St. Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS –  The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate.  Please consider it.

Lourdes Yellow  Boxes – please return these filled boxes as soon as possible. All donations will go to the Parish Lourdes Fund to send sick and disabled pilgrims to Lourdes and also for Redshirts and Helpers that need some assistance with costs.  Thank you for your generosity.

OUR LADY & ST. PETERS LUNCH CLUB  – will meet on Wednesday 15th May.  Fr. Steven will say a Healing Mass at 11.30am followed with Lunch at 12.30pm.  Please ring Ivy (323240)  Jean (311295) or your Driver if you are not able to come.  We look forward to meeting after our Easter break.  We will have our Outing in June for our afternoon Tea Party and will be collecting names this month. 

20p feeds a baby for a day!  Lingfield SVP are running a Family Race night on Saturday 11th May from 6.30 -10.00ish. Venue Jubilee Community Centre East Grinstead. Tickets cost £10 for a family of 4 or £5 per adult. It includes a Ploughman’s Platter and Ice Cream.  It will be an evening of fun and laughter with Children (of any age) riding the hobby horses and a licensed bar for the adults (soft drinks for the children).  By making this fun night a success we all reach out directly to the children in Sudan.  We need to know numbers a.s.a.p. and tickets are available from Lala (01342 327222) Angeline (01342 832665) or Enrique (07824 098276). Helping young people help others  –  Are you (or do you know) a young Catholic (aged 16-24) who would like to volunteer to help others? Every year the Catenian Bursary Fund supports young Catholics from all over the world who volunteer to do something wonderful and help those less fortunate than themselves…across the globe. Whether this is on an individual project, or with others – or even if you are planning to travel to Lourdes or on the Jumbulance to help an assisted pilgrim – the Bursary Fund may be able to help you to achieve your aims. Global Healing Event –  on Friday 24 May from 7-9pm at St Bernard’s Church hall, Vicarage Lane, Lingfield. An ecumenical  evening  on care for creation, using the recently released “Global Healing” film to explore how our faith helps us care for our common home. The evening will include pizza, the film, and a discussion. We will be thinking about Pope Francis’s challenge to us in his encyclical ‘Laudato Si,’ and looking for ways we could respond in our churches! We will finish by 9pm. All welcome. Cake & Plant Sale at OLSP – 8/9 June (Pentecost)   Advance notice of sale organized by the Gospel of Life Group – with all proceeds going to Cavendish House, supported accommodation – Lingfield.  As ever, we are most grateful for donations of cakes and plants for sale from parishioners. FAMILY QUIZ FOR THE CHURCH REFURBISHMENT PROJECT  –  To raise money to help towards the refurbishment of Our Lady & St Peter – details of which were given by the architect at masses a few weeks ago – the East Grinstead Catenians are organising a Family Quiz on Saturday 8th June at St. Peter’s School, Crossways Avenue, at 7 for 7.30. Cost £10 per head to include a fish and chip supper. Cash bar available. Teams of up to 6. Tickets will be available after masses shortly.

Justice and Peace Group – please note the date for this year’s Sleep Out will be overnight on Saturday 29 June. Money raised will go to Crawley Open House, Turning Tides and The Easter Team. If anyone would like to Sleep Out or help with the street collection on the morning of the 29th please contact Sue Joy. 01342 835190.  Sponsorship sign up forms will be available at the beginning of June.

EG Foodbank – items required are biscuits, shampoo, cereal (small packets 500g), hand soap, rice 500g, razors (small packets), shaving foam, jam, tinned fruit, rice pudding, pasta sauce (jars) tinned peas and carrots.

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE  – welcomes sleeping bags, blankets, and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when the Centre is full.  In addition tinned and packet food is welcome as well as coffee, tea and sugar.  Please leave donated items at the back of church at OLSP and St. Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes also be donated at both churches, or taken directly to COH at Three Bridges.  Tel: 01293 447702.
