Safeguarding at St Bernard’s  –  Now that the new system is up and running, it is time to ensure that all those carrying out certain ministries have an current criminal record check via the Disclosure and Baring Service (DBS) for the Diocese.  Starting with St Bernard’s, all parishioners who are carrying out the following ministries need to pick up a pack from the back of the church and follow the details of what needs to be done: Eucharistic ministers, anyone involved in children’s liturgy or a catechist and any altar servers (over the age of 18). The packs are self explanatory but I will be available after church on the 26th March to answer any questions.  I have also included contact details should queries arise when the packs are looked at. In due course, I will announce dates in the newsletter when I will be at St Bernard’s, after mass, to check identity documents.  I would like to thank everyone in advance for their assistance in this area. Janette Pentney.
