ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT – “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s at 09:00am and the Holy Rosary follows at 12:00pm. Come let us adore Him.”

WILLS & BEQUESTS – Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate.  Please consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS – can be taken out – at anytime throughout the year.  It is a valuable source of additional income for the parish with no extra cost to the parishioners.

WEEKDAY MASSES  –  in Parish hall until 14th October.

TODAY 2ND COLLECTION  –  for Home Mission Sunday.  This cannot  be gift-aided using diocesan special collection envelopes (purple).

Sat  21st/22nd  September “SVP  –  About the time of the feast of St. Vincent de Paul (27th September) the Patron Saint of Charitable Works, a second collection has been traditionally permitted by the Parish Clergy, in support of St. Bernard’s and OL&ST.P’s Conferences. From us both, we offer our sincere thanks for your continuing support and generosity, in helping us to do our work. Please note that we are still doing “Cash4 Coins”, so, if you have any old or foreign currency you wish to dispose of, we can exchange same for Stirling currency. PARISH ROSARY GROUP  – Please note the Rosary Group continues to meet on Fridays in the hall at OLSP during refurbishment work.  Commences at 12.00 noon with the Angelus and finishes 12.30-12.40.  All welcome.

Climate Change  –  to find out more or get involved come along to a presentation on  “Heading for Extinction” from 6pm-8pm on Saturday 28 September at St Swithun’s Parish Hall, EG. It is important for our children that we tell the truth and declare a climate emergency, press targets to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2025 and form a Citizen’s Assembly to respond to the crisis. Also join the Rally at Whitehall at 10.30am on Monday 7 October.

GRANDPARENTS’ ANNUAL FORMATION DAY  –  Monday 23rd Sept. starting with Mass at 10am.   At the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Horsham, RH12 2PJ.  Elizabeth O’Shea, Parenting expert will help us to explore strategies to support young people and the pressures they live under today.  Please book at [email protected]

CAFOD Family Fast Day  – this is on Friday 4 October when we are asked to fast, pray and give, so we can extend the hand of friendship to the world’s poorest people focusing this time on villages in rural Uganda devastated by drought.  Envelopes will be available the w/e of 5th and 6th October which will also be Harvest w/e when we thank God for his gifts of Creation. The money raised from the CAFOD envelopes will be used to install solar powered water pumps.   Please can we also have a big push on tinned and packet food at all Masses to give to our local homeless Centre, Crawley Open House.  There will also be a Fairtrade stall after Masses which is another way we can help farmers and producers in developing countries. Thank you.

PARISH MAGAZINE  – Our next issue is planned for November:  we will need contributions by the end of October.  Contributions are more than welcome from parish organizations, societies, clubs, anything in connection with the Parish, the Diocese, the Church, from charitable, or ecological, and similar organizations, from anyone who has been to Rome, the Holy Land, or on a pilgrimage to a shrine… and, indeed, articles or poems that may interest members of the parish. Submissions can be left at the back of the church, addressed to Klara King, or, preferably, emailed to me at [email protected]

PARISH ROSARY GROUP  –  Please note there will be no Rosary Group next Friday (20th).  It will return the following week.

CHARITY MEAL  –  7th October in aid of Riding for the Disabled at Gurkha, The Woodcock Inn, Felbridge.   Price £22  per person.  £10 goes to the Charity.  Arrive 7pm for 7.30pm.  Ring 01342 325325 to book.

Recollections for women –  at Wickenden Manor, Chilling Street, Sharpthorne, RH19 4JB, for October will be on the Wednesday 9th at 19.15 and Thursday 10th at 11am.  November, 13th and 14th. December, 11th and 12th same times.  Recollection for Mothers with little children, 24th October and 28th November.

CRAWLEY OPEN  HOUSE  – thanks from the staff for all your donations of bedding – at present they have enough stock BUT they are desperately short of tinned and packet food, tea, coffee etc.  Please up your donations for this amazing charity which is helping homeless people 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.  Bring items to Church or drop off at COH in Three Bridges.  Another way of supporting COH is to become part of the Be 1 in a 1000 scheme –see website for details www.crawleyopenhouse.co.uk
