ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT – “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s between 09:00-1:00pm. Come let us adore Him.”

REFRESHMENTS – Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS – The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate. Please consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS – can be taken out at anytime throughout the year. It is a valuable source of additional income for the parish with no extra cost to the parishioners.

EAST GRINSTEAD CATENIANS – This Sunday’s 10.30 mass is being offered for the deceased Brothers of the East Grinstead Catenian Circle who include Peter Neave who died recently. The Catenian Association is an international brotherhood of practising Catholic laymen who meet socially, at least once a month. To find out more on the Catenian Association. ANGEL TREE – One of the Justice and Peace Group’s members, Valerie Maynard, recently received an MBE for her work in Lewes Prison Chaplaincy particularly for introducing, and being a beacon for, Sycamore, a very successful Restorative Justice scheme, which Prison Governors value highly as it reduces re-offending rates for those who take part. As usual Val is organising Angel Tree, a Prison Fellowship programme providing those in prison with an opportunity to send a Christmas gift to their children and maintain a connection with their families. MISSIO RED BOXES – Will OL&StP box holders please bring-in their red boxes during the next few weeks for counting before year end. Deliver your box into the sacristy, please don’t leave it elsewhere in church. If your box is normally counted at home, this will happen as usual. Thank you.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION PROGRAMME APPLICATION FORMS – Our parish programme for First Forgiveness and First Holy Communion will be starting in early November. We invite all children in Year 4 primary school and older to apply. Forms will be available at the back of St. Bernard and Our Lady and St Peter churches. Please fill in and return to Fr Steven Purnell or Deacon Ted Rider.

PARISH MAGAZINE – It is still our hope to have the Magazine out before Christmas, but the deadline has now been moved to the end of November, so there is still time for everyone – and in particular those speaking for groups and clubs and societies – to send in your submissions. These can, as usual, be emailed to me at [email protected] – or left at the back of the church, addressed to Klara King. I acknowledge all emails received, so if you don’t hear within a few days of sending one, I’m afraid I haven’t received it.

INDIAN MASS – Holy Malayalam Mass on 27th Friday 5.15pm begins with Rosary all are welcome in the name of Jesus.

GOSPEL OF LIFE – The next meeting of the Group will be held after Mass on Saturday 28th November, at OLSP hall, commencing 10.30am. All welcome.

THE CHRISTMAS MUSIC FROM ‘MESSIAH’ GEORGE FREDERICK HANDEL – Concert by the Worth Abbey Consort and Orchestra at Worth Abbey Church, November 29th at 7.30pm. No Tickets – retiring collection for ‘OUTREACH PERU.’

LAUDATO SI’ CARE OF OUR COMMON HOME – Pope Francis calls on all Catholics as part of the worldwide Church to be concerned and take action on climate change as part of his encyclical because it is pushing people into deeper poverty in developing countries. In December there will be important international talks in Paris. Please take a special CAFOD postcard, put in your details and post it to CAFOD asap. If anyone is interested in attending a Rally to be held in London on Sunday 29 November please contact Sue Joy on 01342 835190 – CAFOD are asking for people to attend as are other international aid agencies.

CHARITY MEAL – in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice on Monday 30 November, 6.30pm for 7pm at Tarana, Lingfield. £16 per head. Bookings to EG 832222. Thank you to all those who supported the recent events to raise £715.90 each for Crawley Open House, Crawley Prison Fellowship, EG Street Pastors and Age UK. Thanks also to Barclays Bank for match funding of £1000 and to those who donated raffle prizes.

PARISH CHRISTMAS LUNCH – (SUNDAY 6TH DECEMBER) – in St. Bernard’s hall – gathering from 12.30 pm for lunch at 1.00 pm. The meal will be a traditional Christmas Lunch. The arrangements will be as at the previous parish lunches: soft drinks will be provided but please bring your own alcoholic drinks; pre-booking is not required – just come along if you wish; there is no charge but there will be a voluntary donations basket. Everyone is welcome – from all corners of the parish.

EG FOODBANK – the following items are required lease 500g bags of granulated sugar, Feminine hygiene products, Toilet rolls, Washing-up liquid and Men’s deodorant. Thank you.

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE – is desperately short of blankets, sleeping bags and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when it is full. Toilet rolls, UHT milk, sugar and tinned meat are particularly required at present but any tinned and packet food is welcome plus tea and coffee. Please leave donated items at the back of the church at Our Lady and St Peter’s and at St Bernard’s. Larger items, including duvets and clothes to be taken to OLSP, or taken directly to COH near Three Bridges in Crawley. Tel: 01293 447702. Alternatively, if you prefer, please leave a cash contribution in the basket and the SVP will purchase items on your behalf. Thank you.

GATWICK DETAINEES WELFARE GROUP – needs men’s shoes, trainers, jeans and sweatshirts jogging trousers (medium and large sizes please) as well as toiletries.
