ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT – “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s between 09:00-1:00pm. Come let us adore Him.”

REFRESHMENTS – Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St. Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS – The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate. Pleas e consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS – can be taken out at any time throughout the year. It is a valuable source of additional income for the parish with no extra cost to the parishioners.

2ND COLLECTION TODAY  –  Home Mission – can be gift aided using the charity’s own envelopes.  Thank you.

Fairtrade Sale  –  will be after both masses this weekend 16th/17th September. We will have copies of the new

“SVP  –  This month there will be a second collection for the work of the SVP shared between St. Bernard’s and Our

Lady and St. Peter’s Conferences.  Thank you all sincerely, in anticipation, for your support in helping us to carry out

our work across the parish, addressing those in need both here and abroad.

 

EAST GRINSTEAD CATENIANS  –  The East Grinstead Circle of the Catenian Association will meet at the Dorset Arms, High Street, East Grinstead on Monday, 18th September at 8.00 p.m. Members are also reminded of the Thai Meal to be held after the Catenians Mass for Vocations on Saturday 30th September.  The Catenian Association is an international brotherhood of practising Catholic laymen who meet socially, at least once a month. To find out more on the Catenian Association. please call Bill Blackledge on 01342 317599  or visit http://www.egcats.co.uk

CARDINAL CORMAC MURPHY – O’CONNOR RIP  –  to celebrate his life, to remember him and to pray for him there will be a Diocesan Mass at 3pm, Sunday 1st of October at Arundel Cathedral.  All are welcome to attend.

INVITATION  –  Each Friday morning there is Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – Exposition – at OL&StP between 09:00 and 12 midday. If your time permits, why not pay a visit for as long or short as suits you. No commitment, no signing-in, just a quiet period before the Blessed Sacrament. Come, let us adore Him.

 

OUR LADY & ST PETERS LUNCH CLUB  –  meet on Wednesday 20th September.  Fr Steven will say a Healing Mass at 11.30 am followed by Lunch at 12.30. Please ring Ivy (323240) Jean (311295) or your Driver if you are unable to come.

 

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND RECONCILIATION 2018  –  If you have a child in Year 4 primary school year or older and would like to enrol them in our next programme, please take an Application Form at the back of your church and complete.

Please hand your form to Fr Steven Purnell, East,Grinstead Deacon Ted Rider, Lingfield or the school office at St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School, East Grinstead. The first parents’ meeting without the children will be held on Wednesday 20th September at 8pm in the church hall East Grinstead.

 

CHRISTIAN MEDITATION GROUPS –In East Grinstead we meet each Thursday from 7.30-8.30 pm, in the Parish Centre/Church Hall at Our Lady and St Peter. At Worth Abbey we meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, from 7.45-8.45 pm, in the Chapel of The Blessed Sacrament, in the Abbey Church. For those who wish to stay, Compline starts at 9.00 pm in the Abbey Church. Visitors and new members are always welcome at both venues. MISSION TODAY MAGAZINE  –  Complimentary copies of the Autumn edition of the Missio magazine are available from the church table for Red Box holders and any parishioner who would like to read one.

Love in a Box  –  both churches and St Peter’s School will be participating in this annual scheme which aims to help children in Eastern Europe.  Leaflets will be available in October but in the meantime please save any shoeboxes with

detachable lids for the scheme.  Thank you.

CAFOD Family Fast Day – Friday 6 October with the theme “We plant the seeds that one day will grow.” Envelopes will be available for your donations the w/e of 7/8 October.

Harvest w/e – will also be 7/8 October so please bring extra tins or packets of food, toiletries along and place on the altar and these will be given to Crawley Open House.  Their stocks need to be built up for the winter months for the homeless and disadvantaged. Thank you.

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE – welcomes blankets, sleeping bags and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when it is full.  Toilet rolls, UHT milk, sponge puddings, sugar and tinned meat are particularly required at present but any tinned and packet food is welcome plus tea and coffee.  Please leave donated items at the back of the church at Our Lady and St. Peter’s and at St. Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes to be taken to OLSP, or taken directly to COH near Three Bridges in Crawley.  Tel: 01293 447702.  Alternatively, if you prefer, please leave a cash contribution in the basket and  the SVP will purchase items on your behalf.  Thank you.
