ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT –  “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s between 09:00-12:00pm.  Come let us adore Him.”

REFRESHMENTS –  Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St. Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS –  The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate.  Please consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS –  can be taken out at anytime throughout the year.  It is a valuable source of additional income or the parish with no extra cost to the parishioner

Our Lady & St Peter’s – Refurbishment Project — Temporary Access Through Side Gate

Our contractor may occasionally erect  signs directing parishioners and visitors to access the Church via the single gate.  This arrangement will mainly apply during the week, for weekday Masses and will enable the contractor to use the double gates for his deliveries. 

Now that the Project  is underway please take care accessing the Church and observe signs erected by our contractor.

Cake sale after 10.30am Mass this Sunday– a pupil at St Wilfrid’s School will be selling cakes to raise money for a school building project in Kenya for disadvantaged children.  Please support her by coming along to coffee after Mass and buying her cakes.  Thank you.

Lourdes Yellow  Boxes – please return these filled boxes as soon as possible. All donations will go to the Parish Lourdes Fund to send sick and disabled pilgrims to Lourdes and also for Redshirts and Helpers that need some assistance with costs.  Thank you for your generosity.

engagement with the Diversity & Inclusion agenda   Thurs 23rd May from 8.00-9.30pm.  Parishioners are invited to a special evening event at St John’s Felbridge to hear about how Christians can engage more actively in the workplace diversity and inclusion agenda.  Joseph Clease, the Diversity and Inclusion Lead for Christians in Government will be holding a talk / training session with Q&A. Joseph has been actively involved in this agenda for the last 2+ years, following the decision to include Faith and Belief more centrally within the scope of Diversity & Inclusion policy and practice in the civil service. 

Global Healing Event –  on Friday 24 May from 7-9pm at St Bernard’s Church hall, Vicarage Lane, Lingfield. An ecumenical  evening  on care for creation, using the recently released “Global Healing” film to explore how our faith helps us care for our common home. The evening will include pizza, the film, and a discussion. We will be thinking about Pope Francis’s challenge to us in his encyclical ‘Laudato Si,’ and looking for ways we could respond in our churches! We will finish by 9pm. All welcome. FAMILY QUIZ FOR THE CHURCH REFURBISHMENT PROJECT  –  To raise money to help towards the refurbishment of Our Lady & St Peter, the East Grinstead Catenians are organising a Family Quiz on Saturday 8th June at St. Peter’s School, Crossways Avenue, at 7 for 7.30. Cost £10 per head to include a fish and chip supper. Cash bar available. Teams of up to 6. Tickets will be available after masses from this weekend or by calling John Donohue on 01342 326552. 

Cake & Plant Sale at OLSP – 8/9 June (Pentecost)   Advance notice of sale organized by the Gospel of Life Group – with all proceeds going to Cavendish House, supported accommodation – Lingfield.  As ever, we are most grateful for donations of cakes and plants for sale from parishioners. Climate Change  Rally – Wednesday 26 June –  CAFOD are inviting parishoners to come along to this important event in London.  The march to Parliament will be from 1pm-4pm (Trafalgar Square to Parliament).  Further details are available from  cafod.org.uk/Campaign/Climate/Climate-lobby. ; There are inter-faith events being held as well.  If anyone would like to join a group going please contact Sue Joy, 01342 835190.

Justice and Peace Group – please note the date for this year’s Sleep Out will be overnight on Saturday 29 June. Money raised will go to Crawley Open House, Turning Tides and The Easter Team. EG Foodbank – needs toilet paper (small packs), washing powder/liquid (small packs), surface cleaner, tinned carrots, tinned peas, tinned sweetcordn, tissues (small packets), tinned pasta (hoops) and cup-a-soup (boxed). 

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE  – welcomes sleeping bags, blankets, and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when the Centre is full.  In addition tinned and packet food is welcome as well as coffee, tea and sugar.  Please leave donated items at the back of church at OLSP and St. Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes also be donated at both churches, or taken directly to COH at Three Bridges.  Tel: 01293 447702.
