Reconciliation (Confession)

SICK/HOUSEBOUND VISITS – requests for visits and for Holy Communion in the Lingfield area – contact Deacon Ted.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT – “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s between 09:00-1:00pm. Come let us adore Him.”

REFRESHMENTS – Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS – The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate. Please consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS – can be taken out at anytime throughout the year. It is a valuable source of additional income for the parish with no extra cost to the parishioners.

WE WELCOME  –  Fr. Carl Davies from Billingshurst, who will be celebrating the Vigil Mass today.

MARRIAGE ANNIVERSARIES MASS  –  Bishop Richard warmly invites all couples celebrating a landmark or significant anniversary in 2016 to a special Marriage Anniversaries Mass. This will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, 8th October, at The Church of Our Lady of Ransom in Grange Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4EU. Dear Friends  – I have entered the East Grinstead 10k Run on Sunday September 24^th.  I am looking (pleading) for sponsors to support me and raise money for Prostrate Cancer UK, a cause close to me and to the organisers of the race.  The race is in memory of Andy Ripley, who was a local sports superstar (google him) who died young from cancer and whose family started the event.

The run starts at 10am and on the application form I had to estimate how long I would take: I wrote “I hope to be home for tea”.  I will accept donations in any format, but you may find it easiest at:

CHRISTIAN MEDITATION GROUPS  EAST GRINSTEAD AND WORTH ABBEY – we are now having a break over the Summer until September.  Our next meetings will be EAST GRINSTEAD Thursday 8^th September 7.30-8.30pm, and Worth Abbey Wednesday 14^th September 7.45-8.45 pm.

SAFEGUARDING  –  The Catholic Church uses DBS (formerly known as CRB) Disclosures.  The Diocese is now providing safeguarding training for those who carry out ministries in the Parish, which require DBS disclosures.

If you are a Catechist, Eucharistic Minister, Alter Server (over 18years) or involved with music, where young people are playing, you should undertake this training.

MINI BUS FROM LINGFIELD, DORMANSLAND & EAST GRINSTEAD TO ST. WILFRID’S SCHOOL CRAWLEY

As our children have now left school, the contact person for collecting names of students for the minibus service will now be Sue Stevenson.  Pam at Hello Taxis will continue to provide the service which has been excellent.  My role will continue as person to contact in confidence should finance be a restraint in using the bus. CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE –  is desperately short of blankets, sleeping bags and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when it is full. Toilet rolls, UHT milk, sugar and tinned meat are particularly required at present but any tinned and packet food is welcome plus tea and coffee.  Please leave donated items at the back of the church at Our Lady and St Peter’s and at St Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes to be taken to OLSP, or taken directly to COH near Three Bridges in Crawley. East Grinstead  Foodbank  –  Through the summer holidays we are piloting a scheme to support low income families whose children normally have free school meals in term time.  Please could you help by donating something from this list?

Pasta sauce,Tinned Spaghetti/hoops/ravioli, tinned ham, tinned hotdogs, tinned fruit, UHT custard and treats such as peanut butter, snack bars, savoury nibbles, biscuits. We are also urgently in need of shaving foam, children’s toothpaste & toothbrushes, small boxes of washing powder, tampons, loo rolls & surface cleaner.

GATWICK DETAINEES WELFARE GROUP – needs men’s shoes, trainers, jeans and sweatshirts jogging trousers (medium and large sizes please) as well as toiletries.
