REFRESHMENTS –  Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St. Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS –  The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate.  Please consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS –  can be taken out at anytime throughout the year.  It is a valuable source of additional income for the parish with no extra cost to the parishioners

This Sunday (November 5th)  – there is a performance of Faure’s Requiem performed by Worth Schola Cantorum in Worth Abbey Church at 7.30pm. No tickets required. Retiring collection.

Confirmation 2018  –  Application forms for any young person in Year 10 or above who is interested in being confirmed next year are now available in both churches. Please return completed forms to Fr Steven by 24th November at the latest.

MISSIO CALENDAR 2018 –  Complimentary copies of the Missio calendar for 2018 are available from the church table for Red Box holders and any parishioner who would like to have one.

PARISH 100 CLUB –  Congratulations to winners in the October draw: 1st, £50, no 116, Mrs Hunt; 2nd, £25, no 101, Mr & Mrs Causton; 3rd, £15, no 88, Mr Bell.

NOVEMBER IS THE MONTH – when we remember our dead.  Holy Souls envelopes are at the back of the church.

Readers – Please collect your new rotas at the back of the Church.

OL&SP SVP  – are collecting any foreign currency you may have leftover after your holiday abroad, we will be sending a package to CASH4COINS next month.  Please ring Jean 311295.

A new Rosary group – will meet at OLSP on Fridays after Adoration, from 3rd November. Please come along for the Angelus at Noon, if you are not already present for Adoration. Praying the Rosary will finish around 12.30pm.  Sets of Rosary beads and prayer cards will be available for use, and assistance provided for those taking up the Rosary for the first time. All welcome.

CHRISTIAN MEDITATION GROUPS –  In East Grinstead we meet each Thursday. We are now meeting earlier, from 4.30-5.30pm during the darker months, in a member’s home. Do contact Gabrielle if you would like to join us. At Worth Abbey we meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, from 7.45-8.45 pm, in the Chapel of The Blessed Sacrament, in the Abbey Church. For those who wish to stay, Compline starts at 9.00 pm in the Abbey Church. Visitors and new members are always welcome at both venues. Love in a Box – thank you for all your boxes sent in so far.  Please try and return them by Sunday 5 November but there is a little leeway if you can’t manage that date.  Leaflets still available at the back of both churches. Catholic Women’s League  – will meet on Wednesday 8th November at 12 noon. (11:30 for committee) Please bring your lunch. Following business Bozena Parfit will give us a demonstration on “Christmas decorations without foliage.  All welcome.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY – 12TH NOVEMBER  –  Following the annual Service of Remembrance at the Lingfield War Memorial all who are present will be invited as usual to mulled wine in St. Bernard’s hall.

On Sunday 12th Worth Choral Society And Orchestra  –  are performing Zelenke’s Miserere and Pergolesi’s Magnificat. There will also be orchestral music. The concert is at 7.30pm in Worth Abbey Church. Retiring collection.

JUSTICE AND PEACE GROUPSmeet next on Tuesday 14 November at 7.30pm in Moat Church – all welcome.

OUR LADY & ST. PETERS LUNCH CLUB – will meet on Wednesday 15th November at 12.30pm. Please ring Ivy (323240) or Jean (311295) or your Driver if you are not able to come. Remember we have our Raffle this month.

BIG EVENT/IMPORTANT –  The future of the Diocese/Parish/Mission of the Church in our area. A presentation of the Bishop’s Thoughts and Questions.  3pm, Sunday 19th November at St. Peter’s School.  Will last one hour.  In 2030 there will be only 25 priests under 65 in the whole diocese.  How shall the Mission of the Church shape their deployment?  What is the Mission of the Church?  Who are the Church?

HOPE 2017 – FESTIVAL DAY FOR 11-14s, WITH RISE THEATRE  – On Sunday November 19th (2pm to 5.30pm) the diocese is running a festival day for young people aged 11-14 at Arundel Cathedral. The day coincides with the first World Day for the Poor, and will challenge us to think about how we are living Christ’s call to serve those in need. The day will include Mass with Bishop Richard, as well as drama from RISE Theatre, and input from CAFOD and others. Spaces are limited, so booking is essential. Contact [email protected] for more information, or to book. We are expecting those attending to be part of organised groups. Young people wanting to attend without accompanying adults must contact Jack Regan for a consent form.

PARISH CHRISTMAS LUNCH –  3RD DECEMBER –  In St. Bernard’s hall, gathering from 12.30 pm for lunch at 1.00 pm. The meal will be a traditional Christmas Lunch.  The arrangements will be as at the previous parish lunches: soft drinks will be provided but please bring your own alcoholic drinks; pre-booking is not required – just come along if you wish; there is no charge but there will be a voluntary donations basket. Everyone is welcome – from every corner of the parish.

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE – welcomes blankets, sleeping bags and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when it is full.  Toilet rolls, UHT milk, sponge puddings, sugar and tinned meat are particularly required at present but any tinned and packet food is welcome plus tea and coffee.  Please leave donated items at the back of the church at Our Lady and St. Peter’s and at St. Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes to be taken to OLSP, or taken directly to COH near Three Bridges in Crawley. Tel: 01293 447702.  Alternatively, if you prefer, please leave a cash contribution in the basket and the SVP will purchase items on your behalf. Thank you.

EG Foodbank – requires tinned sponge puddings, biscuits (small packets), tinned custard and tinned rice pudding, tinned fruit, tinned hot dogs and meatballs, 1 litre long-life cartons, washing powder (small packets), washing up liquid, razors and shaving foam – both male and female, tissues (small packets) and small toilet roll packs. Bring to church or take straight to Jubilee Community Centre, or Sainsbury’s, Waitrose or Barclays Bank.  Thank you.

GATWICK DETAINEES WELFARE GROUP – desperately needs medium sized trousers and trainers size 9 & 10.
