SICK/HOUSEBOUND VISITS – requests for visits and for Holy Communion in the Lingfield area – contact Deacon Ted.

REFRESHMENTS – Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St. Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT – “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s at 09:00am and the Holy Rosary follows at 12:00pm. Come let us adore Him.”

WILLS & BEQUESTS – Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate.  Please consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS – can be taken out – at anytime throughout the year.  It is a valuable source of additional income for the parish with no extra cost to the parishioners.

WEEKDAY MASSES  –  in Parish hall until 14th October.

SAT 30th/SUN 1st September “SVP  – Our Awareness theme this time is “Love your Neighbour”. Visiting elderly people in their own homes, in hospital and in nursing homes, is the bread and butter work of our members. In helping our brothers and sisters in need abroad, we thank our Parishioners for the relief given for the Kerala Flood Disaster last Autumn, and also for supporting the Lingfield SVP Conference, in the thousands of pounds raised to help the baby feeding programmes in Sudan and South Sudan

 

PARISH ROSARY GROUP  –  Please note the Rosary Group continues to meet on Fridays in the hall at OLSP during refurbishment work.  Commences at 12.00 noon with the Angelus and finishes 12.30-12.40.  All welcome.

MONASTERY CARE & HEALTH  MANAGER   – 

Now recruiting a new Care & Health Manager  to lead and develop a small existing team in providing support and high quality care to the monks at Worth Abbey, especially to the older members of the Community.

The ideal candidate will be a person with substantial and proven skills, and wide experience relating to care of the elderly.  Relevant  qualifications in the area of Social care and/or Health management.  Equally important, they will need to be enthusiastic and sensitive about working in a monastic environment, able to work between 25-28 hours over 5 days, (Monday to Friday), with the availability to be on-call out of hours by arrangement and willing to respond to changing/developing needs.  Salary range 23 -27.5K.

Love in a Box – details of this Mustard Seed scheme helping needy children in Moldova will be coming at the beginning of October but in the meantime as it is almost going back to school time for children and grandchildren please save any shoeboxes with detachable lids (not those for boots).  Also, we are always short of hats, scarves and gloves for the boxes so if you see any please get them now.  Thank you.
