ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT – “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s between 09:00-1:00pm. Come let us adore Him.”

REFRESHMENTS – Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St. Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS – The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate. Pleas e consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS – can be taken out at any time throughout the year. It is a valuable source of additional income for the parish with no extra cost to the parishioners.

WE WELCOME FR. THOMAS OSB  –  from Worth Abbey.  Fr. Thomas will be celebrating the Vigil Mass.

2ND COLLECTION TODAY  –  Catholic Education Service  – (can be gift aided).

BAPTISM  –  12.30 OLSP.

2ND COLLECTION NEXT WEEK  –  Home Mission –  can be gift-aided using the charity’s own envelopes.

WEDDING  –  Saturday 12 noon.

REFRESHMENTS  –  will be available again after Mass at OL&StP after the summer break…all  are very welcome to come for refreshments at both churches after Sunday Masses.

SVP  –  svp Awareness month was started several years ago to dispel the idea that it is ”the best kept secret in the Parish!”  It may seem that way because our work is carried out quietly and in confidence.  It is SVP’s turn to do this Sunday morning’s coffee rota; come and see our display board in the Hall after 10.30 Mass, which shows what we do in this Parish”.

Justice and Peace Group  –  meet at 7.30pm on Tuesday 12 September at Moat Church – all welcome.

FRIDAY MORNINGS ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT  –  For the future, Adoration is now fixed between 09:00 and midday every Friday. Why not just pop in at any time that suits you for as long or short as you like. No signing-in, no commitment, just some quiet time with the Blessed Sacrament exposed. Come, let us adore Him.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND RECONCILIATION 2018  –  If you have a child in Year 4 primary school year or older and would like to enrol them in our next programme, please take an Application Form at the back of your church and complete. Please hand your form to Fr Steven Purnell, East,Grinstead Deacon Ted Rider, Lingfield or the school office at St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School, East Grinstead. The first parents’ meeting without the children will be held on Wednesday 20th September at 8pm in the church hall East Grinstead.

CHRISTIAN MEDITATION GROUPS  – In East Grinstead we meet every Thursday from 7.30-8.30 pm, in the Parish Centre/Church Hall at Our Lady and St Peter. We will continue to meet each week as usual.  At Worth Abbey our first meeting will be on Wednesday 13th September. We will then continue to meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, from 7.45-8.45 pm, in the Chapel of The Blessed Sacrament, in the Abbey Church.  For those who wish to stay, Compline starts at 9.00 pm in the Abbey Church.  Visitors and new members are always welcome at both venues. CATHOLIC WOMENS LEAGUE  –  We meet at 6:15 for 6:30 this Wednesday (13th) in the parish centre. Normal business will be followed by a presentation by Mr Stephen Pond on the Circumpolar Constellations of East Grinstead (that’s The Sky Above East Grinstead to us).  EVERYBODY is welcome to join with us for this.

MISSION TODAY MAGAZINE  –  Complimentary copies of the Autumn edition of the Missio magazine are available from the church table for Red Box holders and any parishioner who would like to read one.

ACCOMMODATION – One of our parishioners is urgently helping a young working man find a room to rent in the East Grinstead  area.  If you are able to help this young man please contact: Isabel Fernandez on 07503505420.  Thank you.

OUR LADY & ST PETERS LUNCH CLUB  –  meet on Wednesday 20th September.  Fr Steven will say a Healing Mass at 11.30 am followed by Lunch at 12.30. Please ring Ivy (323240) Jean (311295) or your Driver  if you are unable to come.

Love in a Box  –  both churches and St Peter’s School will be participating in this annual scheme which aims to help children in Eastern Europe.  Leaflets will be available in October but in the meantime please save any shoeboxes with detachable lids for the scheme.  Thank you.

EG Foodbank – requires cartons of 1 litre long-life fruit juice, small boxes of washing powder deodorants – both male and female, small boxes or packets of tissues, small packs of toilet rolls, 1 litre cartons of long-life milk, soap, washing up liquid, and tinned meat (eg hot dogs, meat balls).  Bring to church or take straight to Jubilee Community Centre, or Sainsbury’s, Waitrose or Barclays Bank. CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE – welcomes blankets, sleeping bags and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when it is full.  Toilet rolls, UHT milk, sponge puddings, sugar and tinned meat are particularly required at present but any tinned and packet food is welcome plus tea and coffee.  Please leave donated items at the back of the church at Our Lady and St. Peter’s and at St. Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes to be taken to OLSP, or taken directly to COH near Three Bridges in Crawley.  Tel: 01293 447702.  Alternatively, if you prefer, please leave a cash contribution in the basket and  the SVP will purchase items on your behalf.  Thank you.
