REFRESHMENTS – Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS – The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate. Please consider it.

2ND COLLECTION TODAY –  The Apostleship of the Sea.  Thank you.
BAPTISMS –  12.30  OLSP.  Isaac David Phelp.  Sunday.
Saturday 11.30  Jacob John Bottman   St. Bernard’s.

TODAY  –  is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea.  Without them we would not have most of the items we buy in the shops.  Today’s second collection is for Apostleship of the Sea (AoS), the Church’s official maritime welfare agency.  It supports seafarers both practically and spiritually.  This annual collection is absolutely vital to enable it to continue its work, so please give generously and remember seafarers in your prayers.  Thank you.  For more information on the work of AoS, please visit www.apostleshipofthesea.org.uk

TODAY, 10TH JULY – PARISH SUMMER LUNCH –  at St. Bernard’s Church Hall, gathering from 12.30pm for lunch at 1.00 pm.  All arrangements will be as for the previous lunches: soft drinks will be provided but please bring your own alcoholic drinks; pre-booking is not required – just come along if you wish; there is no charge but there will be a voluntary donations basket.  Everyone is welcome – from all corners of the parish.
THIS SUNDAY EVENING –  (6.30pm on the 10th July) is Rev. Geoff Bell’s farewell at Trinity Methodist Church.  All are most welcome to attend this celebration.
PARISH 100 CLUB  – Congratulations to winners in the June draw: 1st, £50, no 102, Mrs K Garrido; 2nd, £25, no 36, Mr & Mrs Springett; 3rd; £15, no 79, Mr A Daszewski
COUNTED MISSIO RED BOXES  – Thank you for boxes received, please collect your counted box from the windowsill close to the choir loft door. Boxes for counting will still be appreciated, please deliver them into the sacristy rather than leave them anywhere else in church.
FRIDAY MORNING ADORATION  –  A number of parishioners “pop in” to church between 09:00 and 1:00 at varying intervals during Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament each Friday. However (and particularly over the summer months of holiday breaks), we really do need to build-up our core number of attenders who will commit to being present for (ideally) a particular one-hour period during the morning. This is to ensure that the Blessed Sacrament always has attendance beyond the current very small number of us who have so-committed. You will know that time spent at Adoration can be very rewarding so please could you help…just speak to Seana, Margaret or Chris on a Friday morning or, at any time, on contact no 327002. Come, let us adore him.

So if you have something to contribute, on the part of a society or group, or otherwise, there is still some time to write it up.  Also please be sure to double check the list on the inside cover, in case any changes are necessary.  And if any group has a presence online and you want people to access it, you may wish to add a link to this. Submissions can be left at the back of the church, addressed to Klara King, but, if possible, I would be grateful if they could be emailed to me at: [email protected]
