LITURGY OF THE WORD FOR CHILDREN  –   The next Liturgy of the Word for Children will start again in the Spring Term on 20th Jan. 2019  –  Sunday 2C – “The Wedding.”

Justice and Peace Assembly – Human trafficking: slavery on our doorstep to be held at The St Philip Howard Centre (formerly DABCEC) 4 Southgate Drive, Crawley on Saturday 26 January from 9.30-3.30pm. Learn about the slave trade hidden right under your nose and how you can help those affected. With guest speakers from local, national and international organisations working to stop human trafficking.

20p feeds a baby for a day! –  By popular demand Lingfield SVP are running another Jazz Night on Saturday 9th February 7.00-10.30. Venue Jubilee Community Centre East Grinstead. Tickets £15 including a Fish & Chips supper. There will also be a bar and a raffle. Tickets available from Lala (01342 327222) Angeline (01342 832665) or Enrique (07824 098276). Every ticket sold helps to feed a baby in Sudan so come & have a great evening & help save the lives of children too.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Debt advice  –   a local support group offering a listening ear, advice and information to those facing debt problems is available in EG, operating from Trinity Church (the service is free).  If you need help with debt issues don’t delay and worry, get it sorted NOW. EG Foodbank – require the following items:  tinned carrots, tinned peas, tinned potatoes, pasta sauce (jars), tinned meant (meatballs), tinned pasta (hoops), surface cleaner, longlife milk (green I litre), tissues (small boxes), longlife fruit juice (1 litre), toilet paper (twos), toothbrushes and washing powder or liquid – small.  Thank you very much for all the lovely Christmas donations.  The Foodbank was able to prepare 180 bags of Christmas goodies for people in need.  Further information from eastgrinstead.foodbank.org.uk

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE   –  welcomes sleeping bags, blankets, and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when the Centre is full.  In addition tinned and packet food is welcome as well as coffee, tea and sugar.  Please leave donated items at the back of church at OLSP and St. Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes also be donated at both churches, or taken directly to COH at Three Bridges.  Tel: 01293 447702.
