ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT – “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s between 09:00-1:00pm.  Come let us adore Him.”

REFRESHMENTS – Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St. Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS – The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate.  Pleas e consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS – can be taken out at anytime throughout the year.  It is a valuable source of additional income for the parish with no extra cost to the parishioners.

EAST GRINSTEAD CATENIANS   – The 10.30 mass this Sunday (2 July) is being offered for the President and Brothers of the East Grinstead Circle of the Catenian Association. This is an international brotherhood of practising Catholic laymen who meet socially, at least once a month. The Circle enables its members to provide each other – and their families – with mutual support, based on the shared values of their Catholic belief and practice.  Many social events, including an annual lunch which will follow today’s mass, are also open to members’ wives and families. PARISH 100 CLUB Congratulations to winners in the June draw: 1st, £50, no 22, Mrs M. Pett; 2nd, £25, no 102, Mrs K. Garrido; 3rd, £15, no 120, Mr P. McGrath’s estate, kindly donated to the Lourdes Fund by his wife, Jane. We currently have a small number of memberships available @ £20 annual subscription for £90 in prizes each month, just speak to Chris Pond (327002).

MISSIO RED BOXES  – Would Red Box holders please bring their box to church for the mid-year count. Please bring it to the sacristy or hand it to Chris or Margaret, don’t leave it anywhere else.  If your box is usually counted at home this will happen as usual.  As advised earlier, if you are a new box holder following the recent appeal and would prefer to hold over until the next count in November, that will be quite alright. If any queries, just contact Margaret or Chris (327002). Thank you.

CHRISTIAN MEDITATION GROUP  – in East Grinstead we meet each Thursday from 7.30-8.30 pm, in the Parish Centre/Church Hall at Our Lady and St Peter.

At Worth Abbey we meet each 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, from 7.45-8.45 pm, in the Chapel of The Blessed Sacrament, in the Abbey Church.  For those who wish to stay, Compline starts at 9.00 pm in the Abbey Church.

Big Brew – parishioners are welcome for a cup of Fairtrade tea or coffee with biscuits from 1.45pm-3.15pm on Wednesday 5 July in the Hall at St Peter’s School.  There will also be a Fairtrade stall.  Other events for pupils that day will be an Assembly, Fairtrade games with Years 4 and 5, and a Fairtrade stall after school.

PARISH MAGAZINE –  FINAL CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS! DAY FOR YOUTH LEADERS AND CONFIRMATION CATECHISTS WITH INTERNATIONAL

SPEAKER MICHAEL MARCHAND

Tickets are still available for the ‘Breakthrough’ day on Saturday July 8th, being held at DABCEC in Crawley (10am to 3.30pm). The day is aimed at youth group leaders, confirmation catechists, those involved in young adult ministry, and anybody who is simply interested in any of the above. Tickets are £10, with reductions available for larger groups. Michael Marchand is from Texas and is a popular speaker in the US and around the world. He will be helping us to focus on evangelisation.  Following Michael’s input, there will be streams for confirmation, youth ministry, and young adult ministry.

MUSIC AFTERNOON WITH CREAM TEA  –  On Sunday 9th July  in St. Bernard’s Hall at 3pm there will be an afternoon of music from films and shows, also cream teas – in aid of Friends of the Holy Land.

CHARITY TAPAS MEAL FOR YOUNG ‘REDSHIRT’ HELPERS GOING TO LOURDES  – To be held on Monday 17th July at La Farola Restaurant, East Grinstead. Cost is £16 per head of which £8 will help the 5 Redshirts in Year 10 going to Lourdes on the Diocesan Pilgrimage for the first time. Please call La Farola to book on 01342 322399 to let them know you are part of the charity dinner and also of any dietary requirements.  ARRIVE 7PM FOR 7.30PM START.

EVENINGS OF REFLECTION WITH BISHOP RICHARD, 2018

In 2016 and 2017, Bishop Richard invited Confirmation candidates to join him at Evenings of Reflection held around

the Diocese.  More than 350 people attended in 2017, and had the chance to meet with Bishop Richard and to be led

in the practice of Lectio Divina.  Bishop Richard will be doing the same thing in 2018.  The dates and locations are now available so that parishes and Confirmation co-ordinators can factor them into their planning.

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE – welcomes blankets, sleeping bags and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when it is full.  Toilet rolls, UHT milk, sponge puddings, sugar and tinned meat are particularly required at present but any tinned and packet food is welcome plus tea and coffee.  Please leave donated items at the back of the church at Our Lady and St. Peter’s and at St. Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes to be taken to OLSP, or taken directly to COH near Three Bridges in Crawley.  Tel: 01293 447702.  Alternatively, if you prefer, please leave a cash contribution in the basket and the SVP will purchase items on your behalf.  Thank you.
