ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT – “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s between 09:00-1:00pm.  Come let us adore Him.”

REFRESHMENTS – Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St. Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS – The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate.  Pleas e consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS – can be taken out at anytime throughout the year.  It is a valuable source of additional income for the parish with no extra cost to the parishioners.

CATHOLIC WOMENS LEAGUE – would like to thank all who supported our National Coffee Morning and money raised will be added to funds to be distributed to charities at Christmas time.

THANK YOU – for Lourdes Lenten Boxes now returned, £453 has been donated to date in support of pilgrims to the shrine.  If you still hold your box, please will you return it soonest to the sacristy or pass it to Father Steven or Deacon Ted.

RICH MAN POOR MAN LUNCH – a huge thank you to all parishioners who supported this event last Sunday at St Bernard’s or who gave donations, including raffle prizes.  The grand sum of £976.83 was raised which will go towards the expenses of the five Year 12 Helpers going to Lourdes this Summer.  This was a great event and everyone was very generous with the raffle, cake buying and purchase of tickets.

CHRISTIAN  MEDITATION GROUPS –  in East Grinstead we meet each Thursday from 7.30-8.30 pm, in the Parish Centre/Church Hall at Our Lady and St Peter.  At Worth Abbey we meet each 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, from 7.45-8.45 pm, in the Chapel of The Blessed Sacrament, in the Abbey Church. For those who wish to stay, Compline starts at 9.00 pm in the Abbey Church.  Visitors and new members are always welcome at both venues.  If you would like any more information, please contact Gabrielle Joyce, on 01342 326118.

EAST GRINSTEAD CATENIANS  –  The East Grinstead Circle of the Catenian Association will meet at the Dorset Arms, High Street, East Grinstead on Monday, 15th May at 8.00 p.m.  The Catenian Association is an international brotherhood of practising Catholic laymen who meet socially, at least once a month. ENCOUNTER (FOR 15-30s) WITH JOHN WITHERS FROM YOUTH 2000, FRIDAY 19TH MAY  –  The organising team are delighted that so many young Catholics from the area have been coming to the Crawley ENCOUNTER evenings recently.  They offer such a great chance for people to deepen their faith and make some new friends!  The next ENCOUNTER will be on Friday 19th (7.30pm at St. Wilfrid’s School, RH11 8PG) and the guest speaker will be John Withers from Youth 2000, a popular speaker and worship leader.  As ever, there will be snacks, live music, adoration, friendly people, and (our new thing) hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows!!  New people are always welcome.  For more info, search ‘ENCOUNTER Crawley’ on Facebook.

PARISH MAGAZINE: CONTRIBUTIONS NEEDED  –  by the end of June, in order to have a summer issue.  Anything helpful/interesting for parishioners from our parish organizations, societies, clubs, the school, etc., or related to the Church, the Diocese, or our parish, charities, pilgrimages, charity work at home or abroad is all very welcome, along with poems, drawings, crosswords, puzzles….  Also, please be sure to let me know if any of the entries for Parish Organizations on the inside back cover need to be changed (times or places of meetings, names, telephone numbers). Submissions can be emailed to me at: [email protected] (or left at the back of the church, addressed to Klara King).

MUSIC AFTERNOON WITH CREAM TEA  –  A note for your diary:  on Sunday 9th July in St. Bernard’s Hall at 3pm there will be an afternoon of music from films and shows, also cream teas – in aid of Friends of the Holy Land.

EG FOODBANK –  requires donations of the following; Long-life fruit juice (1litre cartons, tinned vegetables (small tins of peas, carrots, potatoes), tinned meat (meatballs, hotdogs), jars of pasta sauce, tinned fruit (peaches etc., tinned rice pudding, coffee – small jars, tissues – small packs, washing powder – small packets, liquid soap – small dispensers, razors for both men and women. LONGLIFE FRUIT JUICE (1 LITRE CARTONS, TINNED VEGETABLES (SMALL TINS OF PEAS, CARROTS, POTATOES), TINNED MEAT (MEATBALLS, HOTDOGS), JARS OF PASTA SAUCE, TINNED FRUIT (PEACHES ETC), TINNED RICE PUDDING, COFFEE – SMALL JARS, TISSUES – SMALL PACKS, WASHING POWDER – SMALL PACKETS, LIQUID SOAP – SMALL DISPENSERS.  Please leave at church or take to Jubilee Community Centre in Charlwood Road.

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE –  is desperately short of blankets, sleeping bags and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when it is full.  Toilet rolls, UHT milk, sponge puddings, sugar and tinned meat are particularly required at present but any tinned and packet food is welcome plus tea and coffee.  Please leave donated items at the back of the church at Our Lady and St. Peter’s and at St. Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes to be taken to OLSP, or taken directly to COH near Three Bridges in Crawley.  Tel: 01293 447702.  Alternatively, if you prefer, please leave a cash contribution in the basket and the SVP will purchase items on your behalf.  Thank you.
