ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT – “Exposition takes place every Friday morning at Our Lady & St Peter’s between 09:00-1:00pm. Come let us adore Him.”

REFRESHMENTS – Everybody is cordially invited for refreshments after Sunday Mass at both St Bernard’s and Our Lady & St Peter’s churches.

WILLS & BEQUESTS – The Parish has benefited greatly in the past from the thoughtfulness of parishioners who have nominated the parish to receive funds from their estate. Please consider it.

GIFT AID OFFERINGS/DONATIONS – can be taken out at anytime throughout the year. It is a valuable source of additional income for the parish with no extra cost to the parishioners.

TODAY  –  A First Sunday – There will be no Children’s Liturgy.

Thank you  –  to all those who came to Roochi on Monday night to support our 4 young people who are raising money to go to Lourdes this summer. Charlotte, Roisin, Jesse and Bethany continue their fundraising efforts this Sunday (1st May) after 9am mass at St Bernard’s where they will be serving bacon sandwiches in the Church Hall.

PARISH 100 CLUB  –  Congratulations to winners in the April draw of the 100 Club: 1st, £50, no. 28, Mrs Burgess2nd, £25, no. 6, Mr & Mrs Pentney; 3rd, £15, no. 79, Mr Daszewski. With thanks to two new members recently, all memberships are currently taken.

ICON  –   In this Year of Mercy, the Icon of Our Lady of Consolation is visiting the parishes of Arundel & Brighton.  It comes to OLSP on Monday and to mark its short time here there will be a Mass on the evening of Monday 2nd at 7pm.  It will be collected early on Wednesday morning by Bishop Richard and taken to the Carthusian Monks at Parkminster.

REQUIEM MASS FOR VERA ADMAS RIP  –  12 noon, Wednesday OLSP.

The funeral of Mary Stradling   –  will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, Dale Road, Purley, on Friday, 13th May, at 10 a.m.

EAST GRINSTEAD and WORTH ABBEY CHRISTIAN  MEDITATION GROUPS –   In East Grinstead, we meet in the Parish Centre/Church Hall of Our Lady and St Peter’s Church, each Monday 7.30 pm – 8.30 pm.  At Worth Abbey, meetings are held in the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament in the Abbey Church on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, from 8.00pm- 8.45pm, followed by Compline at 9 pm, for those who wish to stay. “Christian Aid Week Charity Collection Sun 15th to Sat 21st May  –  Volunteers needed please, to deliver envelopes to houses in some local East Grinstead roads and to collect peoples’ donations in them later in that week. 22 volunteers needed (we had too few last year, so new volunteers needed as well as repeat volunteers please).  Lots of the roads have under 20 houses to call at.  Please sign up on the list of roads at the back of Church. Cake & Plants Sale  –  The Gospel of Life Group’s cake and plant sale takes place at OLSP after mass on the weekend of  21/22 May.  All proceeds will go to a supported housing project for young Downs Syndrome people in Brighton.   As the Group of Life Group is small in number, donations of plants and cakes are particularly welcome, if we are to raise a reasonable sum of money for this cause.  If you would like to donate please contact Les Whittaker on 315484  or at [email protected].

CONFIRMATION  CARPARKING  –  Confirmation is on the 22nd May at Worth Abbey.  We need more volunteers to help with the carparking from 1- 3.30pm.  If you can help (and we are desperate!) Please contact Ruth Longley or Fr. Steven.

EG FOODBANK URGENTLY REQUIRES  –  the following goods Long life fruit juice packs, Jars of pasta sauce, Tinned sponge puddings, 500g bags of granulated sugar, J-cloths, Small packets of Male & Female razors, Small Ladies & Men’s Deodorants, Shaving foam / gel, Shampoo, Tinned rice pudding, Tins of carrots, sweetcorn & peas, Tins of ready made custard, Small packets of washing power / washing  up liquid, Small packets of cereal eg Weetabix, and female hygiene products.  Thank you.

CRAWLEY OPEN HOUSE – is desperately short of blankets, sleeping bags and flasks to give to homeless people who turn up at the door when it is full. Toilet rolls, UHT milk, sugar and tinned meat are particularly required at present but any tinned and packet food is welcome plus tea and coffee.  Please leave donated items at the back of the church at Our Lady and St Peter’s and at St Bernard’s.  Larger items, including duvets and clothes to be taken to OLSP, or taken directly to COH near Three Bridges in Crawley.
